Do you prefer winter temperatures to be above or below 65 degrees?

It’s easy to envision winter as snow-covered landscapes and cozy nights by the fireplace, but there are corners of the world where the season takes on a different character. In these coastal havens, the chill of winter gives way to a delightful blend of warmth, relaxation, and enchantment.

Fusing the beauty of the ocean with the serene charm of winter, these destinations create a unique and awe-inspiring atmosphere. With sandy beaches stretching out and palm trees swaying in the breeze, this tropical winter wonderland beckons you to escape the cold and embrace the holidays in an entirely new way.

In terms of weather preferences, people can be divided into two distinct groups: those who thrive in the embrace of warm weather and those who eagerly anticipate the arrival of colder temperatures.

Even during the winter months, Jupiter, Florida, enjoys relatively mild temperatures that rarely drop to uncomfortable lows. Some of us might pull out our heaviest clothes and boots when the temperature dips below 65 degrees. However, with an average winter temperature of 75 degrees, activities like golfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding can still be enjoyed even during the colder months.

Above 65

Pros

  • It is more comfortable to be outside and there’s no need to layer heavy clothing.
  • The sun can signal our bodies to produce more serotonin, which is a natural antidepressant.
  • Our small beach town turns into a tourist’s paradise.

Cons

  • The high humidity can bring uncomfortably high temperatures, leading to sweating and discomfort.
  • It rains almost every afternoon during the summer months.
  • The powerful ultraviolet sun rays make it easy to get a sunburn.

Below 65

Pros

  • A reduced number of tourists allows for more intimate and peaceful walks along the shore.
  • There are fewer mosquitoes and other pests out and about.
  • Colder air boosts your brain activity, improves focus, and helps you think more clearly.

Cons

  • More layers of clothes are needed to keep warm.
  • Certain health condition symptoms can become worse during cold weather.
  • Because of daylight savings, the sun sets earlier, and the days are shorter.

So, the choice is yours – popsicles or hot cocoa? A day at the beach or a day in bed? Flip-flops or snowshoes?
